Judge and Jury: Post-it Note #141

I haven’t written in about 2 months.  I think I’m in a slump.  But I will be back.  In the meanwhile here’s something short and to the point that impacted me this morning and I think I need to share.

In my reading this morning I came across these verses and found them to be interesting and convicting. In John 12:46-48, Jesus says:

“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken”.

It is interesting that Jesus says we will all be judged according to truth on Judgment day, but in the meanwhile His plan does not include judging the world, people, sinners, the disobedient.  His focus is entirely on saving the world.

Here’s the convicting question I have to ask myself. If Jesus doesn’t feel the need to judge the world, people, sinners, the disobedent…..then why do we?

Truth:  We can never find satisfaction apart from God’s plan. His plan is focused on saving the world.  Is it time to change our focus?  Perhaps we should try it His way.
