The Summer Solstice: Post-it Note #81

Today is the summer solstice.  The beginning of a new season.  We spent it getting the pool ready for the kids during the long, hot, Southern days ahead.  Today is the longest day of the year, ushering in a new set of activities, a new set of adventures, a new agenda, pace and schedule.

Perhaps you’ve just experienced a solstice in your life as well.  The longest day.  A day that ushered in a new set of challenges, a new set of rules, a new normal.  Maybe you’re entering a new season.

Whatever you’re facing today, remember that God is the God of heaven and earth.  He can work outside of our understanding of time and space and the entire universe harkens to His command.

When He chooses to close one season in your life to open another, it may bring challenges, but challenges usually walk hand in hand with blessings.  Be on the look out for the new joys, the new peace and the new ministry opportunities He will bring as a result of your new season.

Revelation 21:5 – And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.
