Post-it Note #5: Prayers for Peace

Sometimes God wakes me up with people on my mind.  I know I need start praying when that happens.  Sometimes the need of people is so great God burdens us to pray on their behalf.

Sometimes our prayer lists are so long we don’t know where to start.  Sometimes it’s overwhelming to watch people hurt.

Sometimes I just shake my head because things don’t always make sense.  Sometimes I just don’t understand.

But….

ALL the time, God is in control.  ALL the time, God can redeem ANYTHING!  ALL the time, God is watching.  He sees.  He hasn’t turned His back.  ALL the time His love is reaching out to us.

ALL the time His grace really is enough.  Really.  Enough for anything and everything.  Enough for the diagnosis.  Enough for the lost job.  Enough for the empty checkbook.  Enough for the broken heart.  Enough for the busted relationship.  Enough for the child gone astray.

I’m praying today that YOU will know that His grace is enough.  I’m praying for peace in the body of Christ.  I’m praying for salvation of our friend and loved ones.  I’m praying that God will be glorified in any and every circumstance and I’m giving thanks for these answered prayers.

Let these scriptures encourage your hearts today.

Blessings!

Connie

16 I do not cease to give thanks for you when I remember you in my prayers. 17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him, 18 —since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened—so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength. 20 This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms 21 far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things. 23 Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. – Ephesians 1:16-23

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things. – Philippians 4:6-8

But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
